| The
next day Alex had to leave for Mexico City to sit on the platform
with Presidente-elect Vicente Fox at his inauguration, so we got another
guide, Jose Luis, to take us out fishing. Having already caught our
limit of illegal endangered species, we opted to go reef fishing for
corvina, grouper, triggerfish and calico bass. |
 |
 |
We
went out on the reefs and were catching so many fish that that a shrimp
boat captain, having seen us through his binoculars, actually came over
to our spot, anchored, and dropped a hand line over the side to get in
on the action. |
|
We caught a hell of a lot of fish out there. |
 |
 |
When
we came back in a couple of the local pescadores cleaned our fish
for us at the beach... |
| ...and
the pelicans and sea gulls fought over the scraps. |
 |
 |
Back
at the hotel we watched another beautiful sunset and made plans to take
our fish to a local restaurant and have them cook it for us. |
| We
arrived a little early and the hostess was not quite ready for us.
She apologized for not having her apron on yet, and immediately bent
down to get it from the cabinet. Aside from that small lapse the service
was quite good and the dinner was excellent. |
